Timber Source

The timber that we use is always from sustainable sources. You can ask for proof of this and we will be happy to provide it to you.

French and Sashey are conscious of the devastating effects that humanity is having as a whole upon the planet, and we will only timber if it truly needs to be. Rotten timber is cut out to the correct level, and all of our off cuts are reused on either smaller repairs or used for fuel in wood burners.

We even reuse the saw dust collected from our machinery too.

Legal Note/Guarantees

All personal items to be moved from the area around windows to be worked upon. We are not responsible for damages to furniture, curtains, pelmets and ornaments if you fail to do this before we arrive. Also should you have heavy/bulky items, please ask and we will be more than happy to help you with these should you need us to, only you must be there helping and you take full responsibility for them. Deposit's are 30% to cover materials at the start, and at the end of the first week should the job lead into the second week, a further payment of 40% is payable by either bank transfer, cash or mobile card payment taken by us on site on the Friday of the first week. We will not work on should this payment plan not be met, and will only return when the payment owed has been paid. This may mean at the time that we might have no choice but to reschedule your works, as our next customers start date that has been booked into the diary will be approaching and we may not have enough time to complete your works then without delaying them. If you are proceeding with having works done, please stick to these payments plans and note that the final balance is payable on the day of completion.

Draughtproofing is everything that has been explained in the draughtproofing section of this site and nothing more. It does not cover replacement joinery, reputtying of glass, glazing or painting. Should you have taken out the basic draughtproofing service, this means that additional weights for counterbalancing the windows will be charged when the window has been worked on, because only then we will know the exact weights required. Please read the draughtproofing section and look at the itemised list at the bottom of the page should you be unsure of what each service covers. Also draughtproofing does not cover the replacement of window locks, pulleys and fastenings either.

Mobile payments and bank transfers are accepted on site.

Guarantee's for draughtseals is for 15 years. This is if they havn't in that time been painted with gloss paint by another painter. The timber that we use is from sustainable forestry. Paints used are either Dulux or Crown. Replacement joinery guarantee's are for 5 years, which is only if the whole rotten timber section it replaced was completely removed. Subsequently though, and if only rot was cut out from the affected area by your request, and this was then filled and not replaced with new timber by your request, this level of repair is not guaranteed past 12 months owing to the nature of the repair being far more temporary. We prefer in all cases that you choose to have the complete section replaced though. If you are having your windows painted to our premium painting standard which is charged by day, the guarantee will be 7 years. If you are simply having overpainting done to make your windows look better, this guarantee is for 12 months.
